This course is specifically intended for workers at hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs) to help them maintain their initial OSHA 24 Hour HAZWOPER - RCRA TSD Operations Training certification and stay current with HAZWOPER regulations as mandated by OSHA.
Upon completion of the OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Annual Refresher - RCRA TSD Operations Training course, participants will achieve the following learning objectives:
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations and requirements relevant to workers at Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs).
  • Describe the EPA’s cradle-to-grave program for the management of hazardous waste.
  • Explain the essential elements of an effective Safety and Health Program.
  • Understand the fundamental principles of toxicology and articulate their relationship to chemical exposure.
  • Understand the principles of decontamination and describe the methods used on hazardous waste sites.
  • Understand the uses of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and effectively identify and select the appropriate PPE for specific worksites.
  • Outline the various monitoring and detection tools available to workers at hazardous waste sites.
  • List the criteria used for classifying hazardous waste generators into three different categories and the corresponding regulations applicable to each category.
  • Recognize a HAZWOPER site emergency and demonstrate knowledge of the appropriate response procedures.
