The DOT Hazmat Transportation: Advanced General Awareness 10-Hour course delivers an in-depth introduction to the DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR). The curriculum includes general awareness, function-specific, modal-specific, and security awareness training to ensure personnel understand regulatory requirements and safe practices for transporting hazardous materials.

Who Should Enroll?
This course is intended for employees whose job functions directly affect the safe transportation of hazardous materials, including those who:
- Load, unload, or handle hazardous materials
- Prepare hazardous materials for transportation (packaging, marking, labeling)
- Operate vehicles used for transporting hazardous materials
- Are responsible for security of hazardous materials in transit
- Manufacture, test, repair, mark, or modify containers and packaging used for hazmat transport
Regulatory Requirements & Timing
Employees whose duties affect hazmat transportation must complete this DOT Hazmat training within 90 days of employment or any change in job function. Recurrent training is required at least every three years to remain compliant with federal law. Note: employees involved in air transport must meet FAA recurrent training requirements, which may be every two years.
